Welcome to English II and English III Essentials

Overview: English II and III Essentials are designed to fulfill the English Language Arts requirement for special education students.  Both courses are taught according to the Oklahoma Academic Standards. Every day, students in these classes will be reading and writing both in guided practice and independent practice.

Course Requirements:

Tests (including major essays/projects)............................................................................... 100 points

All tests will be worth 100 points and will count for 40% of a student’s overall grade

Homework....................................................................................................................... 20-50 points

Homework assignments will be given at my discretion.  Most times you will have plenty of time to finish assignments in class.  Homework assignments will count for 30% of a student’s overall grade

Daily Participation............................................................................................................ 10-20 points

Daily bell work assignments as well as class participation will be given each week and will count for 10% of a student’s overall grade.  These include but are not limited to: daily grammar practice, journaling, and Kahoot interactive quizzes.

Semester Test..................................................................................................................... 100 points

Semester tests will be given the last two days of each semester and will count for 20% of a student’s overall grade.  Semester tests may not be given early unless cleared through the office.
