Join Team McAlester as a Substitute!

McAlester Public Schools is now accepting substitute application for the 2022–23 school year.

Motivate, inspire, and encourage MPS students by becoming a substitute teacher.  You will enjoy a flexible work schedule and the opportunity to teach a variety of subjects.

Getting started is easy. After you apply at our Central Office location, you will need to go through a fingerprint background check (fingerprint fee is responsibility of the applicant), complete new-hire documentation, attend substitute orientation, and provide official transcripts, driver’s license and social security card.

Long Term Certified Substitute (responsible for all teacher duties)

• Flat Rate: $100/day
• Must be Oklahoma Certified Teacher
• Must be interviewed and approved by the Substitute Office
• Must be approved by the superintendent

Certified Substitute

• Flat Rate: $85/day
• Must be Oklahoma Certified Teacher
• Must be interviewed and approved by the Substitute Office

Non-Certified Substitute

• Flat Rate: $75/day
• Must be interviewed and approved by the Substitute Office

After the application is approved, substitutes are required to attend an orientation session.
