Students who have limited financial resources may use the NACAC Request for Admission Application Fee Waiver form when applying for college. The purpose of this form is to ensure equitable postsecondary access and thus is intended for first-time undergraduate applicants who meet one or more of the economic need criteria identified on the form.
Below are the steps for completing and submitting the NACAC Request for Admission Application Fee Waiver form:
Students can complete the NACAC Application Fee Waiver without having to print it. They should download the form on their computers, fill out the form, add a signature using the “Fill & Sign” button on the top right of the PDF, and save it on their computers.
Step 1. The student writes the name of the college or university on the top line.
Step 2. The student completes the Student section and checks the appropriate box(es) in the Economic Need section. If none of the traditional boxes apply, the student should check "Other request..." and briefly explain their financial need for an application fee waiver on the lines provided.
Step 3. A school counselor, postsecondary support personnel, or principal at the student's school OR an official from a community-based organization completes the Authorized Official section and verifies the student's economic eligibility.
Step 4. When steps 1-3 are completed, send this form directly to the institution's office of admission. The student should contact the office of admission to determine the school's accepted mode of delivery (e.g., mail, email, fax). The student should follow up with the office of admission 2-4 weeks post submission to check on the approval status.
