Professional Experience

Current Position:

This is my 18th year as a music educator.  I began teaching at MPS in 2010, as an Assistant Band Director for 8 years, five of which I was the director of the Pride of McAlester.  In 2018, I began my new position at MPS as Director of Bands.  At MHS, I direct the Pride of McAlester Marching Band and the MHS Wind Ensemble.  Additonally, I teach beginning brass at Parker Intermediate Center, and  7th and 8th grade brass at Randy Hughes Middle School.  

I am currently serving as the Past President of the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association.

Previous Position:

I began my teaching career in 2007 as director of bands at Dewar Public Schools.  

Family Information:

I have been married to my wife Jamie for 18 years.  We have two children, Casen (12) and Kinsley (8).  Casen is in 7th grade at Randy Hughes Middle School and Kinsley is in 3rd Grade at Puterbaugh Upper Elementary.  We have a minature schnauzer named Ranger.

Personal Information:

I am also the worship drummer at Life Church in McAlester.  I enjoy Texas Rangers baseball and spending time with my family.  We travel to the mountains in Colorado every chance we get!
