Pre-Kindergarten Teacher
I graduated from R.L Turner High School in Carrollton, Texas in 1993. I graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas in 1999.
I recieved a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with a Specialization in English in 1999. I earned my Elementary Education and Early Childhood Certificates in 2004. I took a break after graduating college to help my husband with our Youth Ministry and to be a mommy.
I have attended many Professional Development Conferences during my 12 years of teaching. Some of my favorites include Voyager Reading Curriculum, Great Expectations, ISTE Technology Conference, and the Frogstreet SPLASH Early Childhood Conference.
I am happily married to Joey Clark and have 2 kids. Joey is the Director of Operations at Shared Blessings. He is also the Director of the Pittsburg County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. He works very hard to help meet needs for many people here in McAlester. My kids are both in High School at MHS. Conner is a Senior. He is very active in Marching Band where he plays the trumpet. He also loves participating in Mock Trial, Drama, Debate, and with the Academic Team. Caitlyn is a Sophomore at MHS. She is very passionate about playing for the Varsity Soccer team. She was awarded the Offensive MVP for her Freshman season. She also plays for the West Side Alliance Soccer Club in Tulsa. We spend many hours driving back and forth to help her see her dreams of continuing her soccer career in college and beyond come true. My family attends Lakewood Christian Church. Caity and I help in the nursery and Joey and Conner both play on the worship team. We also have 2 dogs that we love very much. Princess and Boomer make our family complete.
When I’m not teaching you can find me at one of my kids extra curricular activities. I am a band, mock trial, drama, and soccer mom! The hobbies I love to do when I get some extra time to myself include decorating, photography, and gardening.
I do love my family and hobbies. But a great big part of my life are the kiddos in my classes. I’ve always said, “Once you are in my class you are a part of my family.” I really do mean that and work hard to build lasting relationships with both my students and their families. I am honored to get to be many of my students very first teacher. I am passionate about making sure they feel safe and loved and want to come to school each day. I have high expectations for myself and for my students. Together we work very hard to learn everything they need to know to be successful in Kindergarten and beyond. I LOVE being a PreK teacher!!!
