Bachelor’s degree in Journalism completed in May 1991.
2-year teacher’s certification program completed December 1994.
I have attended multiple AP trainings, Great Expectations training, Love and Logic training, Ruby Payne’s Understanding and Working with Students and Adults from Poverty, as well as many other professional development workshops.
I have been teaching at McAlester High School since the fall of 2000. I teach English I, Pre-AP English I, and digital publishing (yearbook). I am also the ACT test supervisor for the national testing dates and the prom sponsor for the district.
I taught 9th grade English at Deer Creek from 1996-2000 before moving back to McAlester.
I am married to Tim Collier, and we have four children. The three oldest are grown, and our daughter, Sydney, will graduate from McAlester in the spring of 2020.
