Instructional Technology & STEM Director
I was born and raised in McAlester. During my upbringing, I really loved my teachers and their passion for learning grew a passion in me to want to teach. In 2000, I graduated from McAlester High School and started my college experience at Eastern Oklahoma State College. However, I took a break to get married and have 3 children. In 2010, I returned to college to complete my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Two years ago, I decided I wanted to futher my education by pursuing a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. This past May, I am excited to say I obtained my goal of graduating with my graduate degree.
Bachelor’s of Science – Elementary Education
Master’s of Education – Eduational Leadership
ISTE – International Society of Technology in Education
Ron Clark Academy – Atlanta, GA
OTA – Oklahoma Technology Association
In December of 2000, I married my husband, Jason. We have three children: Derrick who is a Senior, Kyle who is a Freshman and Katelynn who is a 6th grader. All of my children attend McAlester Public Schools and they truly have enjoyed their experiences here. I am most definitely looking forward to having my two oldest children with me here at McAlester High School this year.
Our family is definitely an animal lover! We currently have two dogs: Gracee (Dachshund & Corgi) and Sadie (Collie & Australian Shepherd). They are our furbabies and we do not know what we would do without them.
When I am not teaching, I like to spend time with my friends and family going to sporting events and traveling. We have been on several road trips throughout the years, and our family loves to visit the National Parks. Some of my favorite parks have been: Yellowstone, Glacier, and Mt. Rushmore.
