I began teaching at Will Rogers in December 2016 in a Resource Special Education classroom. In the fall of 2017 I began teaching first grade. This year will be my 3rd full year. As a first grade teacher, I teach reading, phonics, math, handwriting, science, and social studies.
Prior to working for McAlester Public Schools, I was an Adult Educator for Murray State College in the Moving Into Tomorrow Program. I taught there for 3.5 years while I was earning my teaching degree. I was fortunate enough to do my Student Teaching in the McAlester district in a first grade classroom.
I married Barrett in June of 2012. In June of 2013, our son Xander was born. He is a kindergartener at William Gay Early Childhood Center. For Christmas last year, Xander got his first puppy. He is a white bichon-poodle mix named Bo.
My hobbies include anythng crafty. In my spare time I make farmhouse signs and sell them to raise money for my husband and I to travel on missions trips. We both actively serve in our church, which is how we like to spend our spare time. We also enjoy watching our son play sports, his favorite are baseball and soccer.
